Dr. Jack Shevel
Executive Chairman
Jack Shevel has more than 20 years of strategic operations and investment experience in Southern Africa and Europe. Prior to founding Netcare (one of the largest healthcare enterprises outside of the United States), Dr. Shevel practiced as a medical practitioner for nine years before becoming involved in hospital management in 1989. He has since restored several hospitals in distress back to profitability and is internationally recognized for leadership and innovative entrepreneurial expertise. Through Netcare, Dr. Shevel led the South African hospital Industry shift of consolidation and rationalization prompting competitors to follow with a resurgence of the healthcare industry.
David Cutler
President and CEO
David Cutler joined Centric Health in September, 2012 as President and CEO. Prior to joining Centric Health, Mr. Cutler was the President and CEO of Leisureworld Senior Care Corporation, a well established accredited provider of long-term care, retirement living and community based home care services in Ontario. Leisureworld is a publicly traded company on the Toronto Stock Exchange. Mr. Cutler has been involved in the Long Term Care sector since 1990 and oversaw Leisureworld’s rapid growth, which has quadrupled in size over the past 13 years. Mr. Cutler is a Director on Leisureworld Senior Care Corporation’s Board.
Chris Dennis
Chief Operating Officer
Chris Dennis brings to Centric Health a demonstrated ability to develop and enhance sustainable business value through focusing on operational efficiency, organic growth, brand differentiation and meaningful value creation. Mr. Dennis' most recent role was as Chief Executive Officer and President of Novadent Inc., a dental lab company owned by Birch Hill Equity Partners. Prior to this, Mr. Dennis was Chief Executive Officer and President of one of Canada's largest homecare providers, Comcare Healthcare, which employed over 3,000 healthcare providers. Earlier in his career, Mr. Dennis spent 18 years with Johnson & Johnson (NYSE: JNJ) where he assumed roles of increasing importance within the company, culminating in his role as Global President OrthoNeutrogena, Pharma and Medical Devices. Mr. Dennis holds an MBA from Athabasca University.
Daniel Gagnon
Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Gagnon brings to Centric Health a breadth and depth of strong leadership and financial capabilities gained through his three decade career as a financial executive and public company CFO. Mr. Gagnon’s most recent role was as Chief Financial Officer of Revera Inc., one of the largest providers of seniors’ services in North America, including homecare, retirement and long-term care. Prior to joining Revera, Mr. Gagnon spent 10 years with Husky Injection Molding Systems Limited, a former TSX-listed company that generated more than $1 billion in revenue in 2008, where he held progressively senior roles, culminating in the position of Vice President and CFO. Mr. Gagnon is qualified as a Chartered Professional Accountant and Chartered Accountant.
Jim Black
Chief Information Officer
Jim Black brings to Centric Health extensive experience building and overseeing robust IT infrastructures and leading IT teams at large, multi-unit organizations. Mr. Black was previously Chief Information Officer and Executive Committee member at BCE-owned The Source, a retailer and wholesaler of consumer electronics products and services through more than 700 stores across Canada and multiple e-commerce channels. Prior to The Source, Mr. Black was Vice President, Global IT Operations at MDS Inc., a publicly traded, multi-unit global life sciences company with 40 sites in 23 countries with more than $1 billion in annual revenue during his tenure. Mr. Black has also held various information technology management roles of increasing responsibility at Hudson's Bay Company, Canada's second largest retailer, and global auditing, tax and advisory firm, Ernst & Young. Mr. Black holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree from the University of Alberta and a Masters of Business Administration from the Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario.
Tina Bishai
Chief Operating Officer, Seniors Wellness Division
Ms. Bishai joined Active Health in 1999 as a Registered Physiotherapist with Bachelor of Science degrees in human biology and physiotherapy from the University of Toronto, and received an MBA from Wilfrid Laurier University in 2002. She was appointed Vice President, Operations for Active Health Management in 2002, promoted to President, Active Health Eldercare Division in 2010 and became COO of Centric Health's Seniors Wellness Division in 2011.
Her clinical and consulting experience along with her focus on systems, data capture and analysis in pursuing continuous quality improvement in patient care have demonstrated the benefits of rehabilitation, prevention and wellness to reduce emergency room visits and hospital admissions.
Shari Cohen
Senior Vice-President, Business Development Mergers & Acquisitions
Shari Cohen joins Centric Health’s Business Development Unit as the Senior Vice President, Mergers & Acquisitions for Centric’s Rehabilitation Division. Shari is responsible for pursuing and completing strategic rehabilitation acquisitions throughout Canada. This includes working with potential acquisition targets through all aspects of the acquisition process - prospecting leads, negotiations and closing. Shari has been with LifeMark Health since 1999 in the position of Vice President Business Development and Acquisitions and Mergers. Shari has led LifeMark’s aggressive acquisition strategy and over the last 5 years, completed over 50 acquisitions. Shari also has US healthcare business development experience and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana University.
Glenn Copeland
Medical Director, Surgical Division
Glenn Copeland, Medical Director, Surgical Division. Dr. Copeland, an Orthopaedic Podiatrist, joined Centric in 2011 following the Performance Medical Group acquisition. He is the former CEO of Cleveland Clinic Canada, Feet First, and Footmaxx International. Dr. Copeland is the author of five Canadian best-selling books on foot care.
David Fraser
President, Home Medical Equipment Division
Mr. Fraser joined Centric following the Motion Specialties acquisition in 2012. Mr. Fraser has a B.A. in Economics and is a Chartered Accountant. David Fraser was one of the principal owners and President of Motion Specialties since 2006. Prior to the acquisition by Centric Health, Motion Specialties was the largest independent Home Medical Equipment provider in Canada. Prior to that, David held a number of Senior Management positions at Shoppers Drug Mart, the most recent one as Senior Vice President of the Home Health Care Division. He is the founder of the Long Term Care and Respiratory Divisions at Motion Specialties.
Moe Green
Chief Executive Officer, Classic Care
Moe Green holds a Law degree from the University of Western Ontario, and has been involved in the Pharmaceutical Industry in Canada for over 25 years. In 1987, Moe founded Kohlers Distributing—a Pharmaceutical Wholesale Company—where he was President until it was sold in 1996. In 1996, Moe established Classic Care Pharmacy to service the Long Term Care Industry in Canada. Under Moe’s leadership as President, Classic Care Pharmacy has grown to over 5,000,000 prescriptions a year servicing over 200 different Long Term Care and Retirement Homes in Ontario. Classic Care Pharmacy joined Centric Health in 2011. As CEO, Classic Care at Centric Health, Moe’s experience brings a wealth of knowledge in both Retail and Wholesale in the Pharmaceutical Industry.
Diane Mason
Chief Human Resources Officer
Diane Mason joined Centric Health in March 2012 as Chief Human Resources Officer. Diane has more than 20 years of senior level human resources experience. She began her HR career at Loblaw Companies Ltd. in 1992, and in 1999, she was one of the original team members responsible for launching President’s Choice Financial and spent several years leading HR in various divisions throughout Loblaws. This led to Diane’s appointment as a business leader in Customer Experience & Communication and then to her final role as VP, Retail Integration & Services. Diane holds a business degree from the University of Guelph and a postgraduate diploma in Human Resources Management from Humber College.
Peter Stymiest
Chief Operating Officer, Rehabilitation and Assessment Division
As the Chief Operating Officer for Centric Health’s Rehabilitation Division, Peter oversees all clinic operations and medical assessment services across Canada. His BSc in Physical Therapy and his MBA from Queens University, along with his 24 years of experience in Canada’s rehabilitation market, provide him with the skills and expertise necessary to manage the full continuum of rehabilitation services, from acute care to complex assessment and rehabilitation. With over 100 rehabilitation facilities and 9 specialized assessment centres, Centric Health is able to effectively respond to the unique needs of our patients, referral sources and customers.
