Dr. Jack Shevel
Jack Shevel has more than 20 years of strategic operations and investment experience in Southern Africa and Europe. Prior to founding Netcare (one of the largest healthcare enterprises outside of the United States), Dr. Shevel practiced as a medical practitioner for nine years before becoming involved in hospital management in 1989. He has since restored several hospitals in distress back to profitability and is internationally recognized for leadership and innovative entrepreneurial expertise. Through Netcare, Dr. Shevel led the South African hospital Industry shift of consolidation and rationalization prompting competitors to follow with a resurgence of the healthcare industry.
President and CEO
David brings over 12 years of healthcare experience to Centric Health. He joined the Company in May 2018 from Cardinal Health, where he served as President of its $1.2 billion Canadian business since 2016. During this time, he led a strategic transformation of the Canadian organization, which included integration of the Patient Recovery business purchased from Medtronic. Previously, David was President of the Canadian division of Stryker from 2008 to 2016. Under his leadership, the organization strengthened its market leadership position, improved operating margins and earned consistent recognition as a top Canadian employer and workplace. David holds MBA and LL.B. degrees from the University of Toronto.
Chief Financial Officer
Leslie joined Centric Health in January 2015 as the Director, Financial Reporting. Leslie became involved in all aspects of the Finance team, and was subsequently promoted to Senior Director and Controller in February 2016. In June 2016 he accepted the position of Interim CFO, which was made permanent in December 2016. Previously, Leslie worked in equity research with RBC Capital Markets where he provided financial research, modelling and in-depth sector analyses on real estate investment trusts and operating companies. Leslie holds the Chartered Professional Accountant designation, and began his career at KPMG, where he took on progressively increasing responsibilities in advising public and private companies on a host of complex issues and transactions, as well as providing strategic thought leadership and engaging in business development activities. Leslie holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Toronto.
Vice-President and General Counsel
Paul joined Centric Health in September 2017 as Vice-President and General Counsel. Prior to joining Centric Health, Paul practiced law for eight years in the Securities and Mergers & Acquisitions groups at Stikeman Elliott LLP, one of Canada’s pre-eminent law firms, where he routinely advised numerous public and private companies on complex corporate and commercial matters. Paul holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from Osgoode Hall Law School and a Master of Business Administration from the Schulich School of Business.
COO, Specialty Pharmacy Division
Responsible for the national operations of Centric Health’s Specialty Pharmacy Division, Tim Matthews brings a strong understanding of the industry and the business to the role. Tim Joined Centric Health in 2012 in a Business Development capacity, moving shortly thereafter into the role of VP of Business Planning and Analysis in 2014, overseeing financial analysis for Centric Health across both operational and transactional activities. In his career Tim has also acted in a formal advisory capacity, having worked with Deloitte and PwC Healthcare practices supporting clients across consulting and deals activities in the healthcare space. Tim returned to Centric Health in 2017 to lead the Eastern Pharmacy division, eventually taking on the role of COO, Specialty Pharmacy Division.
Director, National Business Development
Ryan joined Centric Health in March, 2015 through Centric’s acquisition of Pharmacare Pharmacy in Alberta. Ryan was one of the owners of Pharmacare, leading their clinical and business development teams as the VP, Clinical and Pharmacy Strategy. After the acquisition, Ryan began as the Director of Business Development for Centric in Western Canada leading acquisition and revenue growth. In March 2017, he began his current role as the National Director of Business Development. Ryan has extensive experience and relationships in the pharmacy and seniors care sectors, in the regulatory environment and in clinical pharmacy research. Ryan was a recipient of the APEX Future of Pharmacy award and the WL Boddy Pharmacy Team award while holding a Pharmacy degree and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Alberta.
